Rules

In a nutshell, we want our players to govern play as much as possible. Having said that, in case of a disagreement, final say lies with those in charge of the program.
Here is a list of rules we have established to make the game more fun and safe to play:
You are responsible for the actions of your body and your stick.
Rules
- Teams Are prepicked please look for your name and jersey colour when you arrive and check off your name.
- Games All players must sign in on the game sheet and Games will last until a team scores 10 goals and has a 2 goal lead. A 3 minute break will happen between games.
- Mercy If a team leads by 5 goals the game will end.
- RSVP You must reserve your spot on the website or contact organizers. Players that show up may be turned away if we are full.
- Injuries Injury Timeout can be called by any player.
- Referees 1-2 players will be made the referees for the evening and in charge of the calling the penalties.
- Severe Infractions If your infraction is severe attempt to injure or you have had multiple instances in the past you will receive a suspension for future games.
- Infractions vs Other Players (crosschecking, slashing, hooking, bodychecking, roughing, tripping, unsportsmanlike conduct) will result in a minimum of a penalty shot (if it is an attempt to injure, you will be asked to leave).

- Infractions vs Ball (contact with ball above waist, raising stick above waist in forward or backward motion of a shot) will be graded based on whether the were done with the "blatant intent to injure" or took away a scoring chance. First offense will result in other team getting possession in the attacking zone at one of four corners of the zone(or a penalty shot) and defensive team must give 10 feet of space until play is called live. If first offense was done with the "blatant intent to injure" or took away a scoring chance a penalty shot will be awarded.

- Fighting or attempt to start a fight You will be immediately be asked to leave and will receive a suspension based on your actions.
- Throwing or banging stick into Facility You will be immediately be asked to leave and will receive a suspension based on your actions.
- Trash Talking or Yelling at other players You will be asked to take a break or leave. Second infraction of the evening, you will be asked to leave.
- Chicken Shots Goals scored from behind the centerline don't count (even deflected or tipped).
- Goalie Saves Goalie may only cover the ball in the giant white crease or behind the net
- Goal Crease Stay out, no goalie hacking or digging the ball loose.
- After Goalie Save All attackers must leave giant white crease and then stay out of giant white crease for minimum of 5 seconds after goalie gives ball to defender.
- Penalty Shot May be taken by any player from team that was on floor at time of infraction. Once goalie saves the ball it is ruled dead.
- Injury Timeout Can be called at anytime if a goalie or player has been injured and it is believed they could get injured further if the play continues.
- Language - Please refrain from using GOD's name inappropriately.
- Lateness – You must be there before the start time, unless you make prior arrangements. Front Doors will be locked at start time.
- Food & Drink No Food or Drink allowed in the gym other than Regular Clear Water.
- Black and White shirt You must bring both a white and black shirt.
- Short Bench Each team must have 2 subs or we will play 4 on 4.
- Effort If you come to play and stand around and do little to no effort you will be asked to leave.
- Intoxication If we believe your intoxicated you will be asked to leave.
- Incidents Any situations and incidents that occur, will be dealt with by the organizer’s and the persons involved in the incident. We will try and deal with incident on the day, so it does not fester into a bigger problem.
- Fees You must pay before you pay. You can choose an annual membership,pass or pay dropin fee. If you signup and don't come without prior notice, you will a owe the dropin fee. All outstanding fees must be paid before you play again.
- Last Goal Wins: is called usually between in last 10 mintues. If no goal is scored before closing time, a shootout will happen with 5 shooters per team and then 1 by 1 after that.

Equipment
- We advise every player to wear hockey gloves, shin pads, athletic cup, eye protection and/or helmet.
- Sticks must be approved composite, approved fibreglass, or plastic.We ask that you do not use wood blades or any blade that is worn and jagged (able to scratch up the gymnasium floor). We do have a few spare sticks available.
- You will be asked to remove any stick that is found to mark the floor & replace it with a non-marking stick.
- Non marking soled shoes are required.
- There is a hard orange or pink ball used for the games.
- Players Under 18 Years old Must wear a helmet, gloves and shinpads
